Mirel Herrera supports data analysis, group facilitation, and identification of effective practices regarding equity and racial disparities.
In previous roles, Mirel worked with the Education Trust in their P-12 practice. The Education Trust works alongside educators, advocates, and policymakers to identify causes of the achievement gap and to promote the practices and policies that will help close it.
Mirel has also worked with the Aspen Institute Education and Society Program, the U.S. Secretary of Education’s Office, and as an education advisor for a U.S. Congresswoman and U.S. Senator.
Mirel holds a Masters of Public Policy in Education Policy Analysis and Evaluation from George Washington University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Mexican American Studies from the University of Houston.
