The Schenck School
Strategic Plan Development
For nearly 60 years, The Schenck School has helped children with dyslexia in the Metro-Atlanta community to become academically successful, independent learners. The school serves 250 students, kindergarten through sixth grade. GSG was engaged to facilitate school staff and leadership in developing a strategic plan following the retirement of a long-tenured head of school.
The GSG team provided:
Review of the school’s mission and vision
Review of and recommendations for governance structure
Engagement of key stakeholders including students, parents, teachers, staff, donors, and board and emeritus board members to determine areas of greatest need in the community
Facilitation of sessions with the Strategic Planning Committee and Board of Directors to create the strategic direction and strategic plan components
Coaching for school leaders in developing strategic initiatives to address areas of strategic focus
Training and support for staff teams to develop detailed action plans for a set of priority strategic initiatives.
Through its strategic plan, The Schenck School is implementing changes to better serve its school community. GSG continues to support The Schenck School with special projects related to its strategic plan. More information about The Schenck School can be found at https://www.schenck.org/.
